When she went to bed last night her last words before falling off to sleep were "I'm ready to go to school!". Needless to say she was super excited when this morning finally came.
She was up and watching t.v. before my alarm clock went off this morning. When I got up Samantha just wanted to get dressed for School and go on the bus.
I think she thought she had to take a bus to school since the older kids in the neighborhood take a bus to school. So i explained I was going to be the Daddy Bus and she said okay.
She fell asleep on the ride over to her Preschool but woke up as we got close. She remembered the building from when we went and checked it out a couple weeks ago.
I expected her to get all shy and maybe not want to stay by herself since today was her first day. As soon as we walked in she dropped her bag and jacket and started talking to another little girl like she had been there a hundred times.
The shyness came after a couple other little girls started crying. I think Samantha did not know why they were crying so she felt uncomfortable. That only lasted five minutes or so and then the teacher got out a puzzle and distracted Samantha. Once another little girl brought over a bucket full of stuffed animals Samantha was in heaven.
A few minutes later Samantha turned to me and gave me a hug and said "Okay Daddy go home and sleep with Mommy". With that I decided it was time to leave and said good bye.
Hunter loved having the house and Mommy and Daddy to himself all afternoon. He was happier than I have seen him for a while. We got a lot of quality play time accomplished today.
Hunter when down for a nap just before I had to leave to go get Samantha. Now I know he loves his Sister but when I said "When you get up your Sissy will be home." He rolled over and pulled the blanket off his head and said what sounded just like "ohh no!" as he glared at me, he then rolled back over and went to sleep.
I pulled up to pick up Samantha and she spotted her "Car Ride" as she calls it from the window. When I walked in she ran over as she was yelling "DADDY!" and hugged my leg. I thought oh no she must have hated it and missed her Daddy the whole time. Well that thought went flying out of my head when she immediatly said "Okay bye, I go play now".
The teachers said she did great and loved it and after we did a successful search of the entire premise of the Preschool for her Chipmunk she had brought she said good bye to everyone and we left for the day.
She told me in the car she can't wait until she gets to come back to school. She goes to school two days a week so her next day will be next Tuesday.
